TERMS & CONDITIONS (Consumer Face to Face & Supply Only Transactions)

 

  1. General

These Terms and Conditions apply to all quotations, sales orders and invoices, and services provided by Totally Steel Doors Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”) to the Customer (“you”, “your”). By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1.1 Placing an Order

To place an order with Totally Steel Doors Ltd, the following are required:

  • A signed Sales Order signed by the customer, agreeing to our Terms & Conditions;
  • Deposit to be paid of 50% of the total order value.

1.2 Supply Only Basis – Disclaimer

On a supply only basis, Totally Steel Doors Limited will not be liable or responsible in any way for any measurements provided to us by the Customer.

If the measurements supplied are incorrect, the goods may not fit the intended area.

By accepting the final drawings and agreeing to e-sign your Sales Order, you acknowledge and accept our terms as set out herein.

Totally Steel Doors Limited accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever for any errors arising from customer provided measurements.

1.3 Products

Quotes are based on the information provided by the Customer. It is the customer’s responsibility to review and confirm that the correct information (i.e., dimensions, product type, colour, internal, fire-rated and rating required) meet their requirements before ordering. If an incorrect product is ordered and/or fabricated due to incorrect information received, the Customer will be liable to pay in full and Totally Steel Doors will not take any liability whatsoever.

1.4 Lead Times

Lead times are subject to change based on order volumes and the time of year. We advise confirming the current lead time when placing your order. Lead times commence upon approval of drawings, which are issued after the site survey.

Totally Steel Doors Ltd cannot guarantee exact installation dates, but only rough estimates, since these depend on site conditions and the Customer’s timely response to required information. If we improve on the advised lead time, a revised installation date will be formally proposed to the Customer.

We reserve the right to adjust lead times and installation dates after order confirmation, if necessary, with the customer being notified accordingly.

1.5 Marketing Materials

By placing an order with Totally Steel Doors Ltd and accepting our Terms & Conditions, you agree to allow us to document your installation with images and videos for internal training, development, and marketing purposes.

2. Cancelled Orders/Cooling-Off Period

Customers have the right to cancel an order within 7 days of the deposit payment. Beyond this period, Totally Steel Doors Ltd reserves the right to retain deposits. If cancelled within the 7 day cooling off period, but after a survey has been performed, a refund will be given minus a £250 + VAT survey fee.

3. Surveys

3.1 Survey Fees

A survey fee of £250 + VAT is included in the total order value unless otherwise specified. Additional surveys are charged at £250 + VAT per visit.

3.2 Cancelled Survey Fee

Survey cancellations must be made no later than 48 hours in advance. Late cancellations are chargeable at £250 + VAT per survey.

3.3 Survey Requirements

Before the surveyor’s arrival, the following must be complete:

  • Structural openings finished (plastered/skimmed);
  • Finished flooring in place;
  • Adequate structure suitable for fixing Totally Steel Doors Ltd products.

3.4 Structural Opening Dimensions

If surveyed dimensions differ from quoted figures, we will revise and offer an updated quote, based upon the new measurements.

3.5 Structure Requirements

A structure allowing minimum 35mm screw fixing is required. Suitable materials include timber, steel, brick/blockwork, and concrete (without cavities). Test drill holes may be made.

Customers must inform us of underfloor heating and its depth. Installations in such areas are at the Customer’s own risk.

Totally Steel Doors Ltd fire rated products must be mechanically fixed to maintain certification.

4. Installation

4.1 Installation Requirements

Before our team arrives:

  • Structural openings must be complete and at agreed dimensions;
  • Finished flooring must be in place;
  • 35mm screw fixing required into all structural elements;
  • Work area must be accessible and clear.

4.2 Uneven Surfaces

Uneven floors can affect door gaps and seal function. This is the Customer’s responsibility.

Irregular openings may cause gaps beyond trim coverage. These will be sealed with caulk unless otherwise instructed. Bespoke trims can be ordered at additional cost.

4.3 Structure Requirements

Adequate fixing structure (minimum 35mm) is required. The Customer must ensure the structure meets relevant fire and building regulations.

5. Scope of Works

We are responsible for the correct fitting and operation of the products within acceptable structural conditions.

5.1 Thresholds

Thresholds are not supplied. Customers must provide floor finishes where needed.

5.2 Variation of Works

After the 7 day cooling off period has lapsed, the Customer will not have any right whatsoever to make any modifications to the existing order placed for the product.

5.3 Project Signing Off

Customers must inspect and sign the “sign-off sheet” post-installation. If unavailable, the Customer authorises on-site representatives (e.g., tradespeople) to sign on their behalf.

5.4 Remedials

  • Customers must protect surfaces and remove valuables;
  • We are not liable for damage to property including flooring, electrics, or décor;
  • Any remedials must be reported within 48 hours, with a formal snag list and photos;
  • We will address issues in one return visit; extra visits are chargeable.

5.5 Cancelled/Rescheduled Installation Fees

Cancellations/reschedules must be made 48 hours in advance. Late changes are charged at £250 + VAT per person per day plus equipment costs.

5.6 Storage Fees

Delays caused by the Customer post-delivery agreement will incur a storage fee of £100 + VAT per 7-day period.

6. Products

6.1 Product Tolerances

Handcrafted products may have:

  • Slight variation in finish, ironmongery, or glass appearance (as per “GGF guidelines”);
  • Frame alignment variance up to 3mm/meter.

6.2 Design Approval

Customers must confirm door handing, opening direction, system type, colour, handles, and other features before approving final drawings. Once drawings are approved, changes may incur delays and costs.

7. Ownership

All products remain the property of Totally Steel Doors Ltd until full payment is received. We reserve the right to access and remove products if payment is not made.

8. Payments

8.1 By placing an order, you agree to the following:

  • 50% due at when placing an order;
  • 50% due 48 hours prior to installation.

8.2 Totally Steel Doors Limited do not share, store or retain any bank card/credit card details under any circumstances.

9. Damages & Returns

9.1 Damages are to be reported within 24 hours of taking delivery to; sales@totallysteeldoors.co.uk. Supporting evidence will be required when reporting your damaged product.

10. Product Conditions

Due to the product being handcrafted, small differences in dimension, colour, or finish are expected.

11. Quality Assurance & Warranty

11.1 The Products are manufactured with due care and by approved specifications

11,2 Due to the handcrafted and industrial nature of the Products, minor variations in colour, texture, or finish may occur and do not constitute defects.

11.3 The Warranty covers:-

  • 24 months warranty applies to structural and manufacturing defects;

11.2 The warranty does not cover:-

  • normal wear-and-tear parts;
  • routine maintenance services ;
  • environmental damage ;
  • damage caused by an accident or collision;
  • damage caused by misuse or abuse;
  • damage caused by lack of maintenance;
  • damage caused by excessive humidity and/or damp.

12. Delivery

12.1 We may subcontract delivery.

12.2 Delivery may typically takes 3 to 4 working days, but may vary. Estimated delivery is provided upon dispatch.

13. Invalidity

If any part of these terms and conditions is unenforceable including any provision in which Totally Steel Doors Limited excludes liability to the Customer, the enforceability of any other of these conditions of sale will not be affected.

14. Privacy/Cookies

The Customer acknowledges and agrees to be bound by the terms of Totally Steel Doors Limited’s privacy policy. For any GDPR, please refer to our website under Privacy Policy.

15. Third Party Rights

Except for Totally Steel Doors Limited affiliates, directors, employees or representatives, a person who is not a party to this agreement has no right under the UK Contacts (Right of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of this agreement, but this does not affect any right or remedy of a third party that exists or is available apart form that Act.

16. Force Majeure

The Seller shall not be held liable for delays or non-performance resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to force majeure, shortages of materials, transport disruptions, or energy outages

17. Governing Law

This contract is subject to the law of England & Wales and the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.

18. Right To Change Terms & Conditions

Totally Steel Doors Limited reserves the right to change the Terms & Conditions at any time whatsoever and will notify the Customer by email.
